Though all Seventies have equal authority, some are designated as General Authorities and others are designated as Area Seventies. More Quorums of the Seventy may be added as the Church grows (see Doctrine and Covenants 107:93–96). There are currently twelve Quorums of the Seventy. On August 27, 2022, Hyde made his boxing debut, defeating Australian social media star James "IAmThmpsn" Thompson during the 2 Fights 1 Night event. Hyde has been open about his interest in boxing and helped train Jewish-Canadian YouTuber Harley Morenstein for iDubbbz's charity boxing event Creator Clash. For the reason why, you can say I want reporters to know I make more money than them, especially Matt Pearce." Worry about if people start deciding to kill reporters. Hyde also stated: "Don't worry so much about money. When Matt Pearce of the Los Angeles Times questioned Hyde about the donation, Hyde asked Pearce if he was Jewish and went on to say that $5,000 was "nothing" to him. The Southern Poverty Law Center sued Anglin for allegedly organizing a " troll storm" against a Jewish woman in Montana. In 2017, Hyde pledged $5,000 towards the legal defense fund of Andrew Anglin, the founder and editor of neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer. I would say that I’m probably as racist or as biased as the average regular white guy or the average regular black guy." In a December 2016 interview with The Hollywood Reporter in the aftermath of his series' cancellation, when questioned if he held a bias towards minorities, Hyde replied: "No, I wouldn’t say that. Hyde alleged that the show was cancelled due to his vocal support for Donald Trump. Four months later, it was announced that World Peace would not be renewed for a second season. In August 2016, Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace, a television program Hyde co-wrote and acted in along with the other members of MDE, premiered on Adult Swim. Literally, any normal person would be like "Oh, I run Hwayoung and kill one of them and deal with the other one" - well, that's when they catch you off guard.Īnyway, yeah - I don't have a very clear answer on what's the most "common" but people throw anything together - Not sure if it's just placebo or by random, the comps I post in my guide are often either used and setup as a trap defense or completely avoided by some guilds.Samuel Whitcomb Hyde (born 1985) is an American comedian, boxer and a co-founder of sketch comedy group Million Dollar Extreme alongside Nick Rochefort and Charls Carroll. In Top GW, there isn't really any "common" defenses because people just throw anything fucking together. I'd assume their communication is also top-notch. Honestly, it's hard to answer this question because you take a guild like Talentless (Rank #1) - they setup so many different traps in their defenses that you can really understand why they are at the top of the ladder. T1: Conqueror Lilias, Choux (Snow Crystal), Apocalypse Ravi (Counter) If this helps, please drop an upvote for more visibility for everyone :3ĮDIT 2: Smilegate, if you come across this - please change the gw rewards so gw is more competitive again ^_^ I have plenty of suggestions! Please keep in mind: if there is a comp that is not mentioned in the document - please do not hesitate to reach out so I can plan the future update. I do my best to scan 90 GW attacks from Top 3 and then all Fort/SH attacks in Top 30-100 for most accurate findings. Note: all the comps are what I see across 3 different accounts (Top 3, Top 30 and Top 100). I've made a comprehensive guide that outlines the typical defenses you see in guild wars today. I am currently in Parabellum (Top 3 Guild in Global Server) and previously played in Top 10 (last season) with the a now dead guild "THICC". My name is vikchun and I've been playing Epic Seven for about 2.5 to 3 years now. Alternatively, you could also skip it and use a little more soy sauce or tamari. Since Worcestershire sauce often contains fish sauce and is therefore not vegan, I recommend checking the list of ingredients when buying it. It tastes sour, salty, and sweet at the same time – so pure umami flavor! The main ingredients are ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and other spices such as garlic and chili. The traditional tonkatsu sauce is basically a Japanese-style BBQ sauce for roasted or grilled meat. While I haven’t served this dish with a classic Katsu Curry or Tonkatsu sauce, I created my own version with homemade sweet chili sauce because I love this combination so much! Sweet and sour tonkatsu chili sauce However, there are many more different Katsu variations in Japan, like “Menchikatsu” made of minced meat, “Gyukatsu” made of beef, up to Katsu recipes with ham, cheese, fish and seafood or vegan with tofu – the possibilities are endless! Tofu Katsu Curry and Tonkatsuīasically, you can serve your tofu katsu with any Japanese sauce and side dish, because the crispy crusted vegan steak goes well with everything! With all these various possibilities, my tofu katsu recipe is inspired by the Tonkatsu serving suggestion with rice and napa cabbage. Another popular variation is the “tonkatsu” of pork cutlet that’s traditionally served with a sweet-and-sour sauce over rice and chopped napa cabbage, similar to my vegan tofu katsu. The popular Japanese “Chicken Katsu” is basically a simple dish of crispy fried chicken fillets with panko breading that’s often served with a sweet and fruity Katsu curry sauce. Katsu is a popular dish in Japan that can be served in a variety of ways. Serve your curry over rice, or add in some cooked veggies like carrot, sugar snap peas and peppers. This easy vegan Japanese Tofu Katsu recipe tastes as delicious as the popular crispy crusted sweet and sour chicken steak from your favorite Asian restaurant! Serve it with sweet chili sauce or tonkatsu sauce over rice and napa cabbage for a satisfying lunch or dinner that’s better than takeout! What is “katsu”? The curry will need balancing at this stage because apples don't always have the same sweetness - it just depends on the season and the brand of apple you are using.Īpparently a trick of the trade is to make your curry the night before you want it for dinner, because leaving it to sit overnight helps the flavours develop.ĥ. If it is too tart, add a little brown sugar. It may need some salt and pepper, or if it is too sweet it might need a little splash of rice wine vinegar to sharpen it. Taste your curry, and season appropriately. Simmer and stir until the ingredients are all combined and the curry thickens. Pour in the stock, milk and add the Japanese curry roux. Add the curry powder and the cumin then cook further until the room fills with curry fragrance!ģ. When at a paste consistency, add to a pan with a little sesame oil (or vegetable oil if you prefer) and cook on medium heat until the paste reduces by half and starts to turn a caramel brown. Make a curry paste by adding the onion, apple, garlic and ginger to a blender and whizzing until smooth. 1 Serving of Japanese curry Roux (Adds thickness)ġ.5 Grated/Minced Cloves of Garlic (or 5 Teaspoons of ready shopped jarred garlic). This Japanese curry recipe, however, is based on a fruitier concoction! The main element in this sauce is apple, which leads to a tart but delicious sauce that's perfect with panko-breaded meats and tofu, or simply served over rice when you want something warming and yummy! Ingredients Katsu curry like the one in the popular restaurants is often made with a lot of carrots, which you probably couldn't taste at first! However, they help give a lovely sweetness to curries. Japanese curry instead is often made of blended veggies and plenty of curry powder, bay leaf and stock. Japanese curry is often lighter than other curries because it doesn't often use a lot of fat like butter or oil. Many of us have been exposed to delicious Japanese curry sauce in popular Japanese chain restaurants like Wagamamas and Yo!Sushi, often these restaurants serve Katsu curry, but despite the common misconception katsu refers to the crispy breaded meat or tofu, not necessarily the curry! Japanese curries range in many flavours, but they are not the same as Chinese or Indian curries and have quite a distinguishable taste. Does Runaway The Label have free shipping? Anna Quan’s sleek strapless Delfina dress (which also comes in white and seasonal shades) is an elegant option. Black tieīlack tie doesn’t necessarily mean black – although it’s a good place to start – but a floor-sweeping hemline is the true mark of after dark glamour. Wynn Hamlyn’s Monica dress and the Harlow silhouette from Friends with Frank bring simple structure back, making way for the power of accessories. Oroton leans into classic femininity with this lace and floral-trimmed midi. Another ‘90s-inspired smash from Matteau lands in red and brown silk crepe de chine. Sir’s occasion collection, which is modelled off co-founder and creative director Sophie Coote’s own bridesmaid dresses, sets the tone with a range of sculptural silhouettes. Sometimes you can simply add a pair of pointed slingbacks to everyday tailoring for an after-work affair.Ĭocktail codes call for a little more jazz hands. It’s best to think of this code in context: is it a celebration (engagement, baby shower and garden parties spring to mind) or a more low-key commitment (work dinner, gallery opening etc.)? Then gauge the degree of polish needed. Smart casual is sometimes the most confusing category. Just don’t forget to pack an antihistamine in your purse. While the differences in men’s wardrobes feel more marked (when to wear a tie, add a suit jacket or go the whole way in a tux), paying attention to fabrics and adding (or subtracting) accessories helps to find balance for all sorts of occasions. Cast your mind back to the depths of lockdowns (and the loungewear you wore for a little too long after) and lean into the revelry a cocktail or black-tie event offers us now. But rather than looking at the invite as an insult to your wardrobe, view it as an opportunity to flex your dressing-up muscle. Some are simply suggestions, while others have more meaning. The sight of a dress code on an invitation can be daunting. Weddings, baby showers, engagement parties, garden get-togethers – spring frivolity is in full swing for yet another year. There are currently two topics competing for small talk top spot: how bad your hayfever is and how busy your calendar is. I'll have a look around, but I don't know of any Australian providers for this sort of item. Though I suppose you do make a good point that with the cost of materials it might not be much more expensive than a student disc. Well one problem I have is that I am in Australia, so American providers might not work. Let me know if anything needs clarifying. The thin base on the metal pegs ensures that the drawings will stay in register the thicker base of the plastic pegs could cause small vertical registration errors if they're taped down to the top of the disc. You can also cut out a notch for the electrical cable to run through quite easily.įor pegs, either route out a hole for a plastic pegbar or get her the thin metal tape-on pegs. They've got about a 17 1/2" diameter and come with a lip that's perfect to run a screw through to attach it to the back of the board. Or, if you went with 1/2" plex for the disc and are handy with a router, you could route out the edge of the disc so that it fits in the hole.įor the light container, I've previously used the plastic drip pans from really big indoor plant pots. That's a bit trickier, as you have to get them in just the right place when you glue them down I'd go with the ring. Another way is to cut three small blocks of plex and glue those to the back of the disc to keep it in place. One is to cut a plex ring that fits in the 16 3/8" hole and is about 1/2" wide, and glue that to the back of the disc. I've seen several different methods of keeping the disc in place. At the very least, you can order your sheet plastic from them. They have every kind of plastic, and they're great to work with. Out here on the left coast, we have a company called Tap Plastics. If it proves to be too much light, your GF can keep a blank sheet of paper on the disc at all times as a diffuser. The goal is to let as much light through as possible, and opaque white cuts down on the light reaching the paper before a single sheet is laid down. It's unsightly (because it lets you see throught to the light), but I recommend using clear plex instead of opaque white. My thoughts about building your own disc:ġ/4" plex should be sturdy enough, but if you want to be sure, go with 1/2". I am sorry if this post is a bit all over the place, I just hope it made some sense and one of you can be some help. But I am having trouble coming up with a method of securing the disc to the frame in a way that is secure, lets it rotate, and can be detached later. Will the plexiglass be sturdy enough, what type of fluro lighting should I use? I was thinking building a small box with a circular one in it that would attach to the back of the board the disc is in, but will that be powerful enough? Also, I know that having the circle able to spin is very important, especially when using a peg bar. (Where can I buy the plexiglass though?) But I don't know if this would work. My basic Idea was to use a circle of white plexiglass with a fluro light for the back of it. I haven't been able to find much information about building a custom disc, however, so I'm hoping someone here can give me insight on how to do it, or link me to a guide for it. She is an accomplished artist, and if she works well with the custom disc then she could buy a more professional one later, and fit it right in. Instead my plan is to make the hole the standard 16 3/8 size, and build a custom animation disc for the time being. As I'm sure many of you are aware, professional discs are quite expensive, and they are not something I am willing to buy at this point in time. My concern is with the animation disc itself. Having good quality timber and reasonable carpentry experience the actual desk is not a problem to make. I am currently constructing an animation desk for my girlfriend as a 21st birthday present. I don't know about the base but that had the same board. My days at Pathcom ended when the 1000M lost FCC certification for excessive harmonics. When you say tall, would that be in the 6"2" range? Did you ever work under "Tony G" in imports?įor those that don't know much about Pace, in the mid 70s they were the largest CB mfr on the planet and had 7 huge buildings in So Cal and lots of employees. If you worked on the US models what were you doing with the import SSB models? That was usually my department or the repair guys up the street for customer returns. The marine radio was a complete POS with that huge circuit board rotating channel selector with non plated copper foil contacts that would tarnish and make lots of intermittent connections. I think it still works and I should probably sell it to someone that actually cares.Ībout 7yrs later I went back to work for them in the land mobile div and at one point I was the sole repair guy for all land mobile and marine. The design got changed slightly and I currently have the production sample they took to all the shows with a plexiglass top cover so you can see the insides. Larry gave me #2 prototype of that radio when I left. It had a 25w final and a voltage regulator that you could bypass and increase power quite a bit. Just before I left Larry had designed a cool base station not related to any other US made radio that was AM transmit but AM/SSB receive, very unusual. I also knew Larry Hirsch or "Laslo" upstairs in engineering and also Gene Proctor. His wife also worked on the US assembly line. I worked in imports when I first hired in 75, didn't know that many people on the US assy side except for Leonard who wore a cool jacket that had a cartoon character on the back that said "Mad Puppeteer" which might have been a CB handle. Yes, I sort of remember someone with that description. Just noticed where you worked at Pathcom. About that time, Pathcom concentrated on their marine VHF prcguy : Do you remember a tall slender guy with straw hair and a bit of handlebar moustache, worked in one of the cages ? Pull the final and replace with a 50 watt Motorola device, these would do 25 watt PEP out very easy. Popular mods were the clarifier for a 'slider' (?) and adding a switch to the PLL for out of band. Watch for preamp clipping too with mic gain. Now the AF out/modulator can exceed the 100% range which just makes the AM dirty, flattopping and splatter. The SSB filters were the best for the days. After balancing, a 2 tone peak adjustment. I did the biasing of the audio and full alignments. A rather well engineered radio with true high level AM. I did the post assembly alignments on the mobiles. The colony was granted independence from the United Kingdom in 1961 and Sir Milton Margai was appointed its first prime minister. Freetown lies on a peninsula, and is separated from the country's main airport, Lungi, by the estuary of the Sierra Leone River, which is several miles wide. The country became a British colony in 1808, though British influence began in the late 18th century when former slaves were settled in the area that became known as Freetown, now the capital city. It shares land borders with Guinea and Liberia and is bordered to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa, close to the equator, with an area of 71,740 square kilometres (27,700 square miles) -similar in size to South Carolina or Scotland. Main articles: History of Sierra Leone and Sierra Leone Civil War A map of Sierra Leone showing the capital Freetown, Lungi airport, and several other locations of British operations As it happened, political opposition and later British commitments in Afghanistan and Iraq prevented further British operations in Africa.īackground Sierra Leone The Prime Minister, Tony Blair, was keen to see Western interventions in other conflicts, and-along with France-supported the creation of several European Union Battlegroups for the purpose. The success of British operations in Sierra Leone vindicated several concepts, including the retention of high-readiness forces. A small force was deployed to the area in 2003 to ensure stability while several indictments and arrests were made by the Special Court for Sierra Leone. British forces continued to be involved in Sierra Leone by providing the largest contribution of personnel to the international training team and advising on a restructuring of Sierra Leone's armed forces. By September 2001, when the British training teams were replaced by an international force, the DDR process was almost complete. The Sierra Leonean government eventually signed a ceasefire with the RUF that obliged the latter to enter the Disarmament, Demobilisation, and Reintegration (DDR) process. The RUF began to disarm after political pressure and economic sanctions were exerted on Liberia-which had supported the RUF in exchange for conflict diamonds smuggled out of Sierra Leone. The overall British operation was mostly completed by September 2000. The success of Operation Barras restored confidence in the British mission one academic suggested that its failure would have forced the British government to withdraw all its forces from Sierra Leone. Negotiations achieved the release of five of the eleven soldiers, and three weeks into the crisis, British special forces launched a mission codenamed Operation Barras, freeing the remaining six. During the training mission, a patrol returning from a visit to Jordanian peacekeepers was taken captive by a militia group known as the West Side Boys. After deciding that the RUF would not disarm voluntarily, the British began training the SLA for a confrontation. On the same day, the RUF's leader, Foday Sankoh, was captured by Sierra Leonean forces, leaving the RUF in disarray. The rebels attacked a British position near Lungi airport, but were forced to retreat after a series of firefights. Despite the mission expansion, it was not until 17 May that British soldiers came into direct contact with the RUF. They assisted with the evacuation of besieged peacekeepers-including several British ceasefire observers-and began to assist the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) and the Sierra Leone Army (SLA). The majority of those who wished to leave were evacuated within the first two days of the operation, but many chose to stay following the arrival of British forces.Īfter the effective completion of the evacuation, the mandate of the British forces began to expand. The next day, British soldiers began to secure the airport and other areas essential to an evacuation. On 6 May, the RUF blocked the road connecting Freetown to the country's main airport, Lungi. In early May 2000, the Revolutionary United Front (RUF)-one of the main parties to the civil war-advanced on the country's capital, Freetown, prompting the British government to dispatch an "Operational Reconnaissance and Liaison Team" (ORLT) to prepare to evacuate foreign citizens. Although small numbers of British personnel had been deployed previously, Palliser was the first large-scale intervention by British forces in the Sierra Leone Civil War. The United Kingdom began a military intervention in Sierra Leone on under the codename Operation Palliser. British forces involvement in Sierra Leone, 2000 |
