Especially when you factor in all of the added customization functionality, Bitwarden's Argon2 upgrade, open source code, annual 3rd party audits, Report section, yadda, yadda.īut hands down, every password manager I've tried since leaving LastPass has been better. You can setup a free Bitwarden account, use their simple Lastpass Vault importer tool, and take it for a spin.Īlternatively, it's stupid simple to export your vault to a CSV or JSON file, save it as a backup, and/or import it manually into Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane, Keeper, etc.įor the money, Bitwarden's $10/yr premium plan is easily the best value premium plan I've seen. You don't even need to shell out cash to find out. Not just because of some oversimplified "Bitwarden=Good / Lastpass=Bad" argument, but because it is an objectively better user experience, on top of being a MUCH more secure platform. I was on LastPass for something like 8 or 9 years before switching over to Bitwarden a couple years ago, and MAN am I glad I did. As for your premium subscription, I totally get the perceived value in getting your money's worth, but unnecessarily staying on a proven bad, insecure platform, owned by a business with repeated evidence of dishonest customer communication, bad security practices, isn't worth the $10. It's nothing more thanks a mutated auto-fill browser form. I wouldn't downgrade to the Google Password "vault".
